The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us developer Telltale Games announced two episodic game series at this year’s VGX. The first game announced out of the two was the Gearbox Software collaboration Tales from the Borderlands. The project will feature both existing and well known Borderlands characters such as fan favorite Claptrap as well new ones that are “wanna be Vault Hunters”, according to Gearbox head Randy Pitchford.
The game series will be set in the Borderlands world but game play will revolve around Telltale’s unique take on combat. The developer promised that it’ll be “big and bombastic” and pretty funny, just like the two core titles. Telltale will develop the game with Gearbox overseeing the project and helping with assets.
The second project Telltale revealed at the VGX is the Game of Thrones game series. The title was leaked online last month, but is now officially confirmed. Telltale will collaborate with HBO and the game will be based off of the Television show more so than the novels.
No other details were revealed as both projects are still early in development, especially Game of Thrones. But this totals to four video game projects Telltale is now working on; with The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead Season Two joining the party.
