altairWe finally have a bit more solid and visual information about the upcoming Assassin’s Creed sequel from Ubisoft since the developers have released both a teaser website (which can be accessed here) and a teaser trailer for the upcoming adventure game. Of course, since it’s just teasers we’re talking about, there is not much info, but at least some rumors seem to be confirmed.

For example the rumor that said that Assassin’s Creed 2 will take place in the Renaissance period seems to be confirmed by the images on the website and trailer. For example, from what I could tell, we have an image of Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Vitruvian Man” famous work that blends art with science. And that fits really well with Assassin’s Creed concept!

Apart from that, though, we can’t understand too much. Animus is mentioned many times, but we have no idea what that could be – either “courage,” its meaning in Latin or an even more interesting connection with Carl Jung’s psychology, who believed that we each have within us both male and female qualities and the animus is the archetype in a woman that represents her male alter ego. It would be really cool if that would be true, right?

However, we should not jump to conclusions and wait for more details from Ubisoft. Until then, check out the Assassin’s Creed 2 teaser trailer below:
