modernwarfare-energydrinkAll sorts of strange things happen in the world today, so why not a big announcement related to one of the biggest games of the year made via an energy drink? Really, now, how worse can it get?

Although the idea itself – both that of a Modern Warfare 2 energy drink (because, yes, that’s the big game in question) and the announcement of an upcoming downloadable content pack (because, yes, that’s the big announcement)… as I was saying, the idea itself is quite nice. What are the facts?

According to Shacknews, Monster Energy will start selling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 themed energy drinks starting this October, which will give you access to amazing prizes. Like free copies of the first person shooter, access to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Combat Training Experience and download codes for the map pack. Wait.. what?

Indeed, via the Monster Energy cans, we all found out that Infinity Ward is preparing the first downloadable content pack for Spring 2010, so we’ll have some drinking to do until we’ll get the chance to play. Unless the game itself will somehow be a big flop and it won’t be worth the money.

There’s no official confirmation that the DLC will be available for PC owners of the upcoming shooter, but I see no reason why it wouldn’t…
