day-of-the-tentacleFans have been asking for some new stuff for ages now, and LucasArts only accepted (and that just a while ago!) to deliver a Monkey Island remake thanks to Telltale Games. It appears that the public reaction was great to this news, since today we have word that the company would love to produce even more remakes in the near future.

“If this [the Monkey Island remake] sells, there’s no one at this company who doesn’t want to do these games” said Lucasarts’ Brooks Brown, according to Kotaku. “It’s a matter of showing that there’s interest and this market is alive and get people as excited as possible about Monkey Island Special Edition to show that these things can make it”.

Although the prospect of playing in a better looking version classic games like the Monkey Island series or Loom or the Day of the Tentacle and so on indeed sounds nice, I still believe that people would love a brand new adventure – but a revolutionary one – just as much. I mean… it’s not like we can all live off remakes, right? We need some new stuff, too! So bring it on, LucasArts! Give me a new point and click adventure and I promise I’ll buy all the remakes, too!
