l4d2Unless you’re one of the folks who are part of the secret organization that plans to bash Left 4 Dead 2 starting now to eternity, you should be really happy to hear that pre-order deals can be made for L4D2 on Steam and participating retailers (and, just to be stupidly honest here, let me tell you that “participating retailers” actually means “I was too lazy to check them all out”). Either way, there are reasons of joy!

Why? Because, well, if you’re a PC gamer, you most likely have a Steam account. If not, you can create one right away and take advantage of the great Left 4 Dead 2 special offer I was talking about aeons ago.

In other words, if you pre-order Valve’s upcoming game on Steam, you will receive early access to the demo (targeted for a October 27 release) plus an exclusive melee weapon, the baseball bat. Also, the price of the game will be 10% cheaper, so we can say that we’re having a really cool deal here. Check it out on Steam.

L4D2 promises to set a new benchmark for co-operative action games and become one of 2009’s marquee titles. Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more. Finally, with new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, and maps for Survival mode available at launch.

And if you’re a great fan of the franchise, you will certainly have fun reading my previous feature on the real life actors that look like the Left 4 Dead 2 survivor.
