Well PC Gamers, it’s looking to be that time of the year again. You know, the time where our wallets cry in fear but our gamer hearts cry in joy? Yup – the Steam Summer Sale is just around the corner, according to PayPal. PayPal? What do they have to do with anything? We’re glad you asked, because we were confused ourselves!

PayPal is currently holding a promotional sale to UK customers. If you spend £20 on Steam through PayPal, you’ll get £5 off. Digging through the fine print at the bottom of the page will lead us to believe that the Steam Summer Sale will officially start on June 22nd and end on July 5th, the day after this promotion ends. It all adds up! As of now the offer is only valid for UK residents, but we’ll update if this becomes available to the rest of the world.

Apparently this isn’t the first time PayPal has hinted on the Summer Sale’s inevitable start – they’ve done this last year and 2014 as well through email offers and tweets. This date for the summer sale was rumored last month and it turned out to be true! What will you be getting this year? Hopefully most, if not all, titles on your wishlist will be discounted. Remember to take advantage of the PayPal credit offer if you’re a UK resident.

Personally, we’re most excited for the return of a silly theme. The past couple of summer sales have all been themed after something, like the Steam Summer Picnic Sale of 2016. That sale featured a bunch of cute little food people running around and enjoying the festivities. We’re probably going to get another wacky and zany theme this year too, so here’s hoping for something fun and playful. Don’t forget that with each sale comes a new set of trading cards complete with an all-new badge. It’s time to level up your Steam profile… and grab some awesome games along the way!
