So, you’re playing Hearthstone, you’re having a great time and all of a sudden you get an error message: “Ooops! Playful Sprites have Disrupted Hearthstone as it was linking up to the Battle.net service. Please wait a few minutes for them to disperse and try re-launching the game” How to fix this error? Well, unfortunately, I don’t have some good news.

This connection message occurs pretty often, usually during the times when there are the most people online playing the game. It’s a connection issue and it should, unfortunately, be considered natural as Hearthstone is still in beta and probably this kind of errors happen.

Unfortunately, the Playful Sprites error in Hearthstone is one that is here to stay: initially reported back in November, the error was supposedly fixed by Blizzard (as they said in this thread on the official forums). Unfortunately, it’s obvious that the problem is far from being solved as I personally got the error message three times in the past hour and lost ranked games – like many others in this situation.

So in the end, what can we do? Right now there are few things that work. Some say that trying to start the game in offline mode, then going online works. Others state that restarting your Battle.net program does the trick but in my case nothing seems to work – just random retries to reconnect and eventually I’m in. But it’s risky, because I’m out just as fast.

What about you? Do you have problems with the Playful sprites error in Hearthstone? Did you manage to find a way to make things work?
