So, the burglary first took place sometime in Northampton, UK, when seven pallets of games were stolen from a transporter lorry while the driver was resting. Police forces, however, were up and running and, before long, they managed to capture the car used by the thieves to transport the stolen goods.
Apparently, they did not manage to capture the thieves too, and the lorry, as well as the games, was stolen once again within hours from a police depot, before the games could be fingerprinted or DNA tested. Now… correct me if I’m wrong, but this is nothing but pure madness! Incredible, pure madness!
16,000 copies of games, including Brother in Arms or GTA titles were stolen – and this time it seems that it was for good, since the thieves got away and only the lorry was found, empty, this morning. A police spokesman said: “We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this.”
