We reported yesterday that Yoshitaka Arai told a Japanese newspaper that Konami is looking at the possibility to create an Xbox 360 version for Metal Gear Solid 4 but in the meantime the quote was erased so we are starting to wonder if Konami indeed plans an Xbox 360 version or not.

Microsoft, on the other hand, saw the opportunity and jumped in to heap praise on Konami and MGS 4, saying that the company would love to see the game running on an Xbox.

“I’m certainly in the fan club that would love to see Kojima-san’s masterpiece come our way. It would be wonderful to play Metal Gear Solid on the Xbox. It could become another of the many franchises that started their life on another console that are now coming our way,” said to MCV John Schappert, VP of Live, Software and Services.

He also said that Xbox 360 consoles have both the “horsepower and graphics power” to smoothly run the beast. They definitely have a huge fan base, too, so it seems that the odds are firmly stacked against Metal Gear Solid’s exclusivity.
