Even though Mass Effect 2 has not been released yet, the list of cheat codes available for the upcoming RPG from BioWare is already available. For those who cheated at the first Mass Effect, the instructions and the codes will look very similar – because basically these are the same codes. So check out the list below for a handy list of cheat codes for Mass Effect 2:

How to activate the cheat codes in Mass Effect 2?

Go to My Documents/BioWare/Mass Effect 2/Config and search for the file BIOInput. Open it with Notepad (or WordPad) and find the line: [Engine.Console]. Immediately under it add the line:

ConsoleKey=Tilde

Save the file and start Mass Effect 2. While playing the game press the ~ key on your keyboard and type in any of the codes below for the desired effect:

Fly – Activate Fly Mode
GiveAllArmor xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – Activate Armor
GiveAllGrenades xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – Activate Grenades
GiveAllArmorHuman xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – Activate all Human Armor
GiveAllArmorKrogan xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – Activate all Krogan Armor
GiveAllArmorQuarian xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – Activate all Quarian Armor
GiveAllArmorTurian xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – Activate all Turian Armor
GiveAllXMods – All weapons and armor mods
GiveAllWeapons xs (Replace the xs with the name of the manufacturer) – all weapons
givesuperarmor – get super armor
givesupergun – Get Super Gun
givebonustalent # – Activate a bonus talent
GiveAllArmor – all armors
GiveAllBioamps – Bio Amps
GiveAllOmniTools – Activate omni tool
giveall – activate everything for your character, except for armor
AdjustCredits – Increase or decrease Party Credits. Type +1000 after the code to add credits or -1000 to decrease credits.
Teleport – Teleports the player to the location specified by the crosshair
givexp # – Give specified number of XP points
setparagon # – give specified number of paradon points.
Setrenegade # – gives specified number of renegade points
adjustcredits # – get the specified amount of credits
givetalentpoints # – get talent points
walk – Activate on foot control
initgrenades # – specified number of grenades
ghost – walk through walls

  1. This is all BS. Someone just copied the directions from Mass Effect 1 without testing them. Mass Effect 2 doesn’t even use a file named BIOInput. None of this works.

  2. Mass effect 2 uses engine UE3 which is not compatible with mass effect which uses a totally different source engine. the code will be simular, the script is different.. hang in there we are working on them

    • Both ME1 and ME2 use the Unreal Engine 3, ME2 just uses a newer version of it which was stripped of a few features.

  3. You also see Major Kirrahe who promises to fight by your side no matter which way the political tide turns. What is frustrating is that I expected a full scale, epic battle where all sorts of people I have rallied were fighting by my side. Literally. I don’t think that this was a wrong or misleading assumption. But this isn’t what I got. Perhaps my expectations here were far too high.
