Bungie, Halo 3‘s developers have announced that their work with the game is over, but apparently this doesn’t mean that they’re done with Master Chief, too! According to Bungie’s development director Frank O’Connor said that the main character might return at some point the future. Great news, right?

Speaking with USA Today, O’Connor said: “I doubt we have seen the last of Master Chief,” but didn’t want to offer any details he might be holding regarding a possible return in a possible game which possibly will be better than Killzone 2. Some things are straight obvious, yes…

However, until Halo 4 gets born (or at least officially announced), we’ll get Halo 3: ODST, which is “significantly more than an add-on,” according to O’Connor. He said: “It’s a lot of game. You play the game through the point of view of an ODST. They are dropped into combat from orbit. They have a rivalry with the Spartans that is well known to the fans of the fiction.”

So, what are you looking forward to the most? Halo 3: ODST or a possible Halo 4, with Master Chief in?
