braidThe XBLA wonder Braid was initially slated for a mid October release on PCs, it was eventually delayed to the first quarter of 2009, so PC owners will get the chance to play the game sometime in February-March next year. But the strangest thing is the reason why the game was pushed back a bit.

According to an official blog post, the PC version of Braid was delayed because the developers were afraid the game will be ignored by the public because of other big name releases during the holidays. Which is quite strange, having in mind the massive amounts of praise and the hype surrounding the game. But I’m sure they know better.

“At this time, we’re looking at a window of February-March 2009 for the PC release. I know this isn’t good news for those of you who have been waiting a long time for the game, but there sure are lots of games out there for you to play in the meantime,” says the official blog post, which is followed by a couple more surprises: a Mac version will be released “not long” after the PC version, and Braid for PS3 might become a reality if Sony show interest in the game. They did not until now? Strange…
