Resident Evil Revelations 2Resident Evil: Revelations 2 will feature Claire Redfield and Barry Burton’s daughter Moira Burton as the stars, it has been revealed.

Game details for this sequel are reported in the next issue of GamesMaster (posted by Push-Start), and announces that the game’s campaign will be playable in both co-op and single-player.

Revelations 2 is set in-between the events of Resident Evil 5 and 6, and begins with Claire and Moira being abducted and finding themselves trapped in an abandoned island detention facility.

Both characters will have their own play-style. Claire will be the combat-focused character and will be the only one wielding a weapon whilst Moira will act as the support character by providing herbs, a flashlight and general support for Claire.

It is also reported a new enemy type to fight, called the Afflicted. They are said to be both fast and able to deal heavy damage, leading to players having to plan their course of action, be it fighting head-on, trying to sneak around for the stealth kill or a tactical retreat.

The game intends to push more towards the survival horror aspects like the first game, rather than the action-heavy approach of Resident Evil 5 and 6.

The games producer, Michiteru Okabe, is reported to have said: “The project has been finding the line between listening to fan feedback and also doing something different to confound expectations.

“I want this to be both a game that doesn’t lose what made its predecessor great, while also bringing something new and exciting to the Resident Evil series.”
