fallujahEven though the Iraq War is far from being over, game developers are not as patient as they used to and they feel the need to turn the events into a video game as soon as possible. Or at least Konami does, probably encouraged by the success had by Call of Duty 4.

Called Six Days in Fallujah, Konami’s first person shooter will be based on the aforementioned Iraq War, the conflict that claimed the lives of 38 soldiers and 1,200 insurgents. Development will be handled by Atomic Games who is using videos, photos and diaries of real US Marines.

“For us, the challenge was how do you present the horrors of war in a game that is also entertaining, but also gives people insight into a historical situation in a way that only a video game can provide?” Atomic Games president Peter Tamte said. “Our goal is to give people that insight, of what it’s like to be a Marine during that event, what it’s like to be a civilian in the city and what it’s like to be an insurgent.”

Apart from that, we have no other details, but as you can see it’s a pretty promising title we have here and if it will be done well, it might get very popular and successful. But we’ll probably have a better idea as soon as more details are offered.
