Namco Bandai has just announced that Peter Serafinowicz, most famously known as Darth Maul in The Phantom Menace, will be voicing a new character in Dark Souls II.

Peter has not only had a variety of different roles in film, such as Shaun of the Dead, and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, but has also appeared in video games such as Battlefront 2 and Lego City Undercover. If this weren’t impressive enough, Namco Bandai also released that Peter is a huge fan of the series.

“Dark Souls is the most engrossing game I’ve ever played. For me, it’s the best game of all time”.

It will be exciting to see what a celebrity like Peter can do with a character in Dark Souls II. He will be playing a treasure hunter named “Mild-mannered Pete”, who will periodically show himself to the player, and offer tips for survival in the harsh world of Drangleic. The Souls series has always been known for having an eclectic cast of unique and mysterious characters, most of which would turn on a dime and betray you if the reason was solid, so we can all expect Mild-mannered Pete to be a stand out.

Dark Souls II is one of my most anticipated games this year. I binged on the series all throughout 2013 in anticipation of the sequel, and from what we’ve been given, it looks to blow everyone’s expectations out of the water. I think we can expect the same atmosphere and challenge that we’ve come to know and love so dearly.

Dark Souls II releases on March 11 for North America and March 14 for Europe. Will you be picking it up?
