Heroes of the Storm Giving Away 20 Heroes Free to Prepare for 2.0 Update

Blizzard’s entry into the ever-popular MOBA scene is gearing up for a big update. Appropriately titled Heroes of the Storm 2.0, the update will feature a completely revamped hero and player progression system, a loot box system almost lifted straight out of Blizzard’s other star of the show Overwatch, and a new shard crafting system that will allow you to get premium skins and such using material earned in-game.

In celebration of its upcoming April 25th launch date, Blizzard is offering a special bonus for anyone who signs into the game before May 22nd. Upon logging in, you’ll receive 100 gems for free! Gems are the premium currency of the game alongside the existing regular gold. This is exactly enough to buy one of the Hero Mega Bundles to jump start your adventure into the Nexus. You’ll only be able to pick one bundle of the four, but don’t worry – each bundle contains a whopping 20 heroes! There are about 50+ in Heroes of the Storm so you’re getting a good chunk of the heroes for absolutely free.

The four packs you can choose from are:

Assassin Mega Bundle: Alarak, Chromie, Falstad, Greymane, Gul’dan, Kael’thas, Kerrigan, Li-Ming, Lunara, Nazeebo, Nova, Raynor, Sylvanas, The Butcher, Tracer, Tychus, Valeera, Valla, Zeratul, Zul’jin

Flex Mega Bundle: Abathur, Arthas, Azmodan, Brightwing, Diablo, E.T.C, Greymane, Johanna, Kerrigan, Li Li, Li-Ming, Lt. Morales, Nazeebo, Rehgar, Rexxar, Sylvanas, The Lost Vikings, Tychus, Varian, Zul’jin

Support & Specialist Mega Bundle: Abathur, Auriel, Brightwing, Chen, Dehaka, E.T.C, Johanna, Kharazim, Li Li, Lt. Morales, Lucio, Malfurion, Medivh, Muradin, Rehgar, Stiches, Tassadar, Tyrael, Uther, Zarya

Tanks & Bruisers Mega Bundle: Alarak, Anub’arak, Artanis, Arthas, Chen, Diablo, Dehaka, Illidan, Kharazim, Leoric, Muradin, Ragnaros, Rexxar, Samuro, Sonya, Stiches, Thrall, Varian, Xul, Zarya

As a (self-appointed) veteran of Heroes of the Storm, this is a crazy good deal! If you’ve never played HOTS before and you’re interested in trying it, there has never been a better time to do so. Heroes of the Storm is a little different from other MOBAs in the sense that it streamlines a lot of staples typically found in games like this. For example, unlike Dota 2 and League of Legends, there are no items in HOTS. Instead you’ll get to choose from pre-selected talents and certain levels, letting you customize your hero on the fly.

If you’re a long-time player of HOTS, you’re probably already excited to jump back in to get all those free heroes. If you’re joining us for the first time, be sure to look through the potential heroes and see which ones you like the most! Either way, we’ll see you in the Nexus!
