Guerrilla Games’ New IP Completely Different From Killzone

In an interview with Eurogamer, lead designer Eric Boltjes has revealed that Guerrilla Games’ upcoming new IP is completely different from Killzone. Eric explains that his dutch based studio wants to branch out and seek new and original projects.

“As a studio we do want to branch out,” Eric exclaims, “and we have started work on a new IP, something completely different to Killzone. I don’t want to say anything about it right now, but as a studio we do want to keep it fresh.”

Development on Killzone: Shadow Fall is nearly complete, and some of the game’s designers have already moved on to the new project.

“The really tricky part about that phase is not trying to do too much,” Boltjes explained. “You have a room full of people and they all have a different idea of what they want to change about the game. They can’t do everything, especially if you only have two-and-a-half years to build it.”

Guerrilla Games have only worked on the Killzone series since 2004. The dutch studio was bought out by Sony in 2005 following the debut of the first Killzone game. It seems the studio is finally undertaking different projects.

Killzone: Shadow Fall will make its debut alongside the PS4 on November 15 in North America and November 29 in Europe.
