In order to take part at the competition, you need to own your copy of the recently released Pokemon Platinum, enter in the appropriate age division (there are divisions for all age groups!) and compete against 127 other players in regional tournaments. Becoming a Pokemon champion ain’t an easy job, that’s obvious!
Players will battle it out in 2-on-2 Double Cup battles, with the winners of these regional tournaments winning trips to the Pokemon Video Game National Championships in St. Louis on June 27 and 28. There they will compete for invitations to the Pokémon World Video Game Championships in San Diego, California and only there they will become the ultimate, the one and only Pokemon champions. A long road to travel, indeed!
