We have reported that numerous unhappy gamers had no way of progressing through their Tomb Raider: Underworld game on the Nintendo Wii console because of a glitch that makes a lever disappear. It took a while until Eidos decided to react, but they finally did it. And they’re sorry.

Unfortunately, the problem can’t really be solved and it appears that no patch is being planned. Instead, Eidos is asking players to go back to a previous save game (so it appears that the solution we’ve offered in the previous article does work). Also, the company offers some save game files on its official website to make things easier. Sounds like a really strange way of solving things, but probably it’s the only way…

Here is what an Eidos rep said: “We are aware of a bug which is present in the Nintendo Wii version of Tomb Raider: Underworld. We would like to stress that this is an extremely infrequent bug, however on the rare occasion that it occurs, it affects the presence of a lever in the Thailand level of the game and prevents progress beyond this level. Eidos sincerely apologies to anyone who has experienced this frustrating problem.”

So, if you are one of the unlucky fellows and you have problems with your TR: Underworld copy, try visiting Eidos’ website where customer support telephone numbers await. Good luck!
