Most hidden object adventure games tend to go for the realistic route in terms of graphics and Excursions of Evil comes as a splash of color with it cartooney visuals. It is still a hidden object adventure game, but one that comes in a lighter note and learns not to take itself too seriously.
Climbing volcanoes, swimming with sharks, it’s all in a day’s work for Audrey! She roams the world in search of adventures and makes a living out of it with her popular travel blog. After receiving an e-mail from the travel agency, “Excursions of Evil,” it’s clear that her scariest adventure has yet to come. Will she take up the invitation to visit the spooky surroundings on the shore of England where a murder mystery has taken place? You’ll surely find out if you give this game a try!
However, make sure that you test this one before you buy as it clearly is not a game for everybody. Its biggest problem if you were to ask me is the strange English used – some mislabeled items in the hidden object scenes which makes everything more difficult and not in a good way. The hints are very vague at times so you’re mostly on your own – again, this making the game more challenging.
For some reason, I loved the artwork of the game even tough I have heard many complain. One thing is sure: Excursions of Evil is not a game for everybody, but for the right audience it can surely prove to be really good and entertaining. So give it a try before you buy at Big Fish Games.
