The Pirates of the Caribbean universe is one that can still deliver lots of quality games, and Disney knows that. As a result, they tasked their Vancouver studio Propaganda Games to develop an action RPG and the folks working there quickly came up with Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, the newest entry in the franchise.
Taking place before the events in the movies, Armada of the Damned comes with an original story in which players are put in the shoes of an unnamed pirate that has to “embark on epic land and sea adventures”. Yes, this means that Disney didn’t offer any detailed information regarding the game’s story, but it obviously involves tons of undead creatures.
Also, according to the game’s developers, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned will be set in an open world where players will have to fight against enemies, mystical creatures and Mother Nature, with the promise that lots of moral and development choices along the way will affect both the character and the original story. And that sounds pretty nice.
Armada of the Damned is scheduled to hit the retail stores in Fall 2010, but we’re waiting for some extra details before we decide if we have to put the game on our most wanted list.
