I’m a bit late with this one, but it finally happened: I have purchased XCOM: Enemy Unknown and, like the rest of the puny mortals out there, I have become and addict. And I really love it – I only regret now that I have to work and that I don’t actually feel too well after three hours of sleep per night, after fighting the alien invasion.

There are so many things to love about XCOM: Enemy Unknown that it almost makes me want to go meet all my friends and force them to buy a copy of the game and just give it a try: the first 3 minutes are enough to make you love the game. And if you think it’s something that will pass by, you’re wrong: as time progresses and you get to know more and more about the game, and you get to love the squad you’ve created and all their little nicknames that they get, the more you’ll love this game. And personally, I can’t wait to finish this first playthrough I’m still playing (on pussy level, actually so it’s like a walk in the park) and start over with increased difficulty and more knowledge about the game. And no, I will not set up my base in the US again!

Jokes aside, I have big plans to turn my addiction for XCOM: Enemy Unknown into something that you can learn a bit from: I am working on various guides to help you battle the alien invasion, and also am trying to figure out some sort of story of my own progress through the game’s world: learning from somebody’s direct experiences is probably the most fun way to do it. And we can all cry together when our recently promoted captain dies in action.

So in case you haven’t played XCOM: Enemy Unknown yet, do yourself a favor and buy it. Don’t even think about, don’t even hesitate. Get it, play it, love it! And then come back here to Unigamesity for all the XCOM: Enemy Unknown guides you can think of!
