Just before Christmas, we have a new set of three games made available for our Nintendo Wii consoles. And even though I am sure the games are all fun and all, I am a bit disappointed with this pre-Christmas update to the Wii Shop Channel – I was expecting surprises, really classic games, freebies… it appears I was wrong.
So, the first new WiiWare title you can purchase starting this week is Tiki Towers, a game of construction, destruction, problem-solving and… monkeys! Because you have to work hard together with your monkey friends to build towers and reclaim the island of your tribe. The game features both single and multiplayer play and it costs 500 Wii Points.
Fun! Fun! Minigolf is the second game made available this week and you can purchase it for 900 Wii Points. As you probably imagine, this game allows you to turn the Wiimote into a golf club and start playing against your friends – up to four players can play the game.
The Virtual Console gets another Sega Genesis classic this week – Phantasy Star IV, one of the biggest RPGs of the console. n the year AW 2284, planet Motavia is once again plagued by strange biocreatures, and it’s up to the brave men and women of the Hunters Guild to exterminate them. You are Chaz Ashley, a rookie Hunter straight out of training who is supported by Alys Brangwin-a crafty veteran whose good looks and prowess with the blade have earned her an awesome reputation. These two Hunters, along with a cast of supporting characters, will go beyond Motavia to unwittingly save their entire solar system. It will cost you 800 Wii Points.
