One of the most important aspects of PC gaming is the fact that it generally allows indie developers and fans to create all sorts of modifications, usually resulting in incredible new games, generally for FREE. However, some of the best mods out there also became commercial successes, like Red Orchestra and Gary’s Mod and the same might happen now, since the Top 100 Mods of 2008 were chosen!
For the seventh year in a row Mod DB hosted the awards: 4000 contenders participated and 58,000 people voted for the top 100. The list can be checked out over at the official website of the competition and you should rest assured that you’ll find at least one mod you’ll enjoy playing.
However, that’s not it: you can also vote, out of the 100 finalists, for the best of the best – the mod of the year 2008! Voting takes place until February 4th and the winner will be announced on February 28th. So make sure to cast your vote and check back to see who won the competition!
