With the Gamescom running, it was just a matter of time until some really cool computer game-related news hit the internet and that moment is now, with 1UP hosting a nice full feature on Assassin’s Creed 2, Ubisoft’s upcoming game that is anticipated to simply rock our world. There are lots of details on impressions about the game, and we have a summary prepared for those who aren’t in the mood of reading that much.
First, according to 1UP, the visuals are even better than those in the first Assassin’s Creed game (as hard as that is to believe!) and players will no longer be forced to complete side-missions (meaning that you won’t have to finish other missions to open up new areas just to be allowed to continue with the story). This is a nice thing but if we’re talking about a short main story (as the one in Fallout 3), it might turn into a turn-off!
Next, the new character, Enzio, seems to know a few things more compared with Altair: he will be able to blend in with all sorts of people and also move between groups to be continuously blended in. Probably part of the reason why Assassin’s Creed 2 allows us to do that is the fact that now we’ll be allowed to purchase items, upgrade armor and customize Enzio’s outfit too!
One of the nicest things about Assassin’s Creed 2, at least from this early preview, is the fact that the main character can poison his blade, poke an enemy with it and, when he deliriously starts to move around, waving his sword randomly, Enzio can throw at his feet some coins to make other people jump in to grab them, only to be hit by the sword themselves. It seems quite nice, right?
Also, there will be “chase gameplay” sequences that seem to be pretty fun (and also similar with PoP:: The Two Thrones) as well as the possibility to lock on people to make attacking from above easier. And, of course, there will be much more goodies, but Ubisoft is certainly keeping them a secret. Still, I can say I’m really excited with what Assassin’s Creed 2 promises to deliver!
