The fact that Square Enix’ The Last Remnant was released less than 10 days ago doesn’t stop the developers plan the release of downloadable content starting next week. No, this does not (necessary) mean that the game you have just bought is incomplete, it just means that the company wants more cash – or just to offer you more stuff, it’s up for you to decide.
Unlike most of the other companies who release DLC days after their game is launched, Square Enix at least has the decency to offer most of it for free, so we shall forgive them for the one content pack that will be sold for little over $1. So, without further ado and complaints, let’s see what additional packages will be made available for The Last Remnant by the end of the year!
On December 1 the free Challenge Pack 1: “Purgatory’s Sins” will be made available, offering extra guild tasks. During the same day you’ll be able to get The Key of Ancient Ruins and discover the mysteries hidden by these scary ruins.
Two weeks later, on December 15 you’ll have to spend 100 MS Points if you plan to learn the three new formations to boost your tactical strength introduced by the March to War Set. Lastly, the 22nd of December will bring you the final DLC for The Last Remnant (at least for 2008) with the free Challenge Pack 2: “The Price of Lies”, adding a bunch of extra guild tasks.
