Last week I reported that one of the most anticipated PC games of the year, The Sims 3, was being delayed by Electronic Arts, who at that time said they were “evaluating the launch window”. Although it was obvious that it meant “the game will be pushed back” we did not know until when, but today we do: EA has announced that The Sims 3 will be delayed to June 2, 2009. Which means that fans of the franchise will get their game four months later than anticipated!

However, Electronic Arts did not specify the exact reason the game got delayed, so we’d be tempted to believe that they simply consider June a most appropriate month for releasing their computer game and there are no last second problems or “further polishing” that had to be done. Either way, we’re finally getting The Sims 3 this summer and that’s still a great thing!
