It’s not a huge surprise to hear that Halo Wars has such a great deal of success on Xbox 360 consoles (it’s a Halo game, after all!) and even though it managed to become the best selling console real time strategy game of the current generation of consoles, it still doesn’t have huge sales – compared to other more popular genres, at least.
Still, the RTS sold one million copies and the numbers will most likely go up in the future, making sure that it will be difficult for real time strategy games of the future to defeat it. Especially since Microsoft is already preparing extra exciting content to keep fans glued to the screens and to attract new buyers, of course.
Set in the year 2525, Halo Wars takes players on a perilous journey through the famed “Halo” universe. As players take the command seat in the early, epic battles between the UNSC and Covenant, they will begin to unravel events 20 years before “Halo: Combat Evolved” that shaped the franchise into what it is today. So congrats to the Halo Wars developers for creating such a solid title – as I said, even though sales would not be impressive if we were to compare numbers with the best selling games of our times, Halo Wars still remains the best selling RTS on consoles, and that’s a big achievement!
