museumVideo games, no matter if the authorities like it or not, are starting to become part of the history of the human kind and the time to have museums dedicated to them has come: we already had in the UK the first museum dedicated to video games, and now New York opens one. So one thing is clear: video games are finally being accepted and offered the praise they deserve.

Eurogamer reports that the National Center for the History of Electronic Games has opened in Rochester, New York as the “only museum anywhere devoted solely to the study and interpretation of play.” This means that, should you decide to visit the museum, you’ll get the chance to admire over 15,000 items and even test some of the old consoles! Among the huge numbers of video game-related items, you’ll see advertising, publications, toys, book and other items.

And I don’t know why, but I have the feeling that this museum dedicated to gaming (or “play” as the officials say) will have a huge amount of success among the youngsters. Don’t you agree?
