Ever since Lively has been launched, analysts have rushed to predict that Google is testing different ways of introducing advertising into computer and video games. It appears that now the official step was made, since Google announced AdSense for Games – available in beta only for the moment.

Although Google arrived pretty late in the business, there are still many people who believe that the giants pose a real threat now to every other advertising company. It’s not a wonder that big name developers like Konami, Armor Games or ArcadeTown have already joined the network.

However, it appears that at the moment only online games are being targeted and the advertising will be placed before starting the game, during game play or at the end of a level. So, basically, they do the same thing like their more established competitors. Will they take over this market, too? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
