Denmark–based developers Serious Games Interactive, the ones who created Global Conflicts: Palestine, a role playing adventure game appreciated by critics, have decided to offer us a new game based on the same concept. Entitled Global Conflicts: Latin America, the game plans to draw your attention to the places where poverty, corruption and systematic exploitation of the people are common things.

”Global Conflicts: Latin America’ is not your ordinary computer game. What distinguishes it from many other games is that players actually take something with from the gaming experience, which has relevance in the real world. Often reality is more cruel and brutal than what you can make up and we want engage people by taking video games beyond the killings of orcs and aliens’ says CEO Simon Egenfeldt-Nielsen.

The game puts you in the place of a freelance journalist who must write revealing articles about major problems in Latin American countries. You will be confronted with ruthless landowners profiting on modern slavery; corrupt police officers and tainted state officials; men with bloody hands from their involvement in systematic genocide; organized criminals benefiting from the misery of others… I think you get the point. And your job is to bring the truth about these people’s actions to the public.

So if you’re interested into a game that’s a bit different from your regular mainstream game, check the game’s official website for more details and prepare for a trip to the nearest game shop on October 23, because that’s when the game will be released.
