It’s been a long while since I last played a solid murder mystery game and fortunately today’s recommendation Dead Reckoning: Brassfield Manor fits the bill perfectly. Just launched over at Big Fish Games, this hidden object adventure title takes the classic premise of “murder mystery party turns real” and turns it into a really well made and extremely addictive game to play in one go. You simply can’t put it away, just like a great mystery book!

In terms of story, here’s how things go: “On the eve of his annual murder mystery party, wealthy businessman Reginald Greer is found dead at his home. You’ve been called to Brassfield Manor to solve the case… but it won’t be easy. There are plenty of clues and suspects to keep you guessing who killed Reginald Greer. Was it his spoiled daughter? His jealous son? His disgruntled business partner? It could be any one of the guests who arrived for a game… and stayed for a murder. Use a unique deduction feature to question characters and examine evidence in this intriguing Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure game.”

As soon as you start playing the game, it gets pretty clear and obvious that the developers have put a lot of time in all areas if Dead Reckoning: Brassfield Manor: an extremely well written and captivating mystery story, amazing graphics that will make your jaw drop in awe and something that we don’t usually get from hidden object games: great voice-overs with lip-synch and a lot of attention paid to details.

But that’s not all! The mechanics themselves are great, with a lot of variety in terms of the hidden object scenes themselves and the minigames (which are a bit on the easy side in my opinion, but still great), plus a lot of customization options if the three existing difficulty levels are not enough for you.

All in all, Dead Reckoning: Brassfield Manor is a really good game that you should consider a must buy and definitely one of the best released of this month. So do yourself a favor and head over to Big Fish Games to download and play it right away!
