resident-evil-umbrella-chroniclesIf you were a Wii owner upset because Resident Evil 5 will not be hitting Nintendo’s console as well, now it’s your day because Capcom have announced that they’re planning a sequel for the successful The Umbrella Chronicles. Titled Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, the upcoming title will hit retail this winter as a Wii exclusive and will most likely enjoy a great deal of success, just like it’s bigger brother, Resident Evil 5.

Based on Resident Evil 2 (and featuring Leon S Kenney and Claire Redfield, delivers on-rails style gameplay and active camera which will create a more immersive “Chronicles” survival experience. As in the last installment, this is a first-person game with extreme shooting gameplay and interactive pathways. Filling in many of the missing pieces of storyline that were not covered in the original “Umbrella Chronicles”, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles will give hardcore Wii fans the chance to re-live some of the most classic moments of the Resident Evil franchise, while allowing new players to enjoy the great RE universe.
