This morning wasn’t the first time we’ve heard of a 2014 Halo experience. Last year during the E3 Microsoft Press Conference we were told our Halo Journey would began in 2014, and we’ve heard it again today from Bonnie Ross himself.

Many fans noted that I was very deliberate with my phrasing on stage at E3 last year. I spoke about a “journey,” rather than a destination – and that journey definitely begins in 2014 with a giant leap, rather than one small step.

We know Halo 5 won’t be out until 2015, so what should we even expect for 2014?

Well, we know that studio Certain Affinity is currently working on a project alongside Microsoft, and considering this studio’s pedigree consists of Halo Anniversary’s multiplayer aspects; one might predict Certain Affinity is working on another Halo remake. This time maybe one more multiplayer focused.

The real question is if it will be a Halo 2, or a Halo 3 remake. It makes sense for Halo 2 to be the next in line, considering it would be the next chronologically. We also have quite a bit of proof behind it considering Master Chief’s voice actor Steve Downes made a statement in an interview with GameZone stating that we would indeed see a Halo 2 anniversary edition.

The exact quote is the following,

I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5,  I wouldn’t expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2

while it does seem to be undeniable proof of a Halo 2 anniversary we should all keep in mind nothing is set in stone.

For more Halo news we will have to wait until this years E3 event.  Fortunately we won’t have to wait to long considering Microsoft’s press conference will take place on June 9th.
