wolfenstein the new orderWolfenstein: The New Order has taken the top of the UK All Formats Charts to become the second-biggest release of 2014 so far.

Only beaten in first week sales this year by Titanfall, The New Order accounted for a quarter of all software sales and 36% of all revenue this week, according to Chart Track.

This success also means it is the first Wolfenstein game to reach the top of the All Formats Chart since they began in 1997, beating the eleventh place of 2001’s Return to Castle Wolfenstein and the second place achieved by the series’ 2009 entry.

Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition jumps two places into second this week, as FIFA 14 slips down into third.

Titanfall drops two places to fourth this week, whilst 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil holds onto fifth for the third week running.

Call of Duty: Ghosts keeps onto sixth whilst the Xbox 360 Edition of Minecraft falls three places to seventh.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stumbles down to eighth with Battlefield 4 holding firm in ninth. The LEGO Movie Videogame rounds off the Top 10 this week.

The only new entry outside the Top 10 this week is F1 2013: Complete Edition, which enters at 34th.

The UK All Formats Chart Top 10 (Week ending 24th May 2014) is as follows:

1. (N) Wolfenstein: The New Order
2. (3) Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition
3. (1) FIFA 14
4. (2) Titanfall
5. (-) 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil

New releases this week include Watch Dogs and Mario Kart 8. It wouldn’t be too big of a stretch to imaging Watch Dogs hitting the top of the charts next week, but it would be nice to see Mario Kart break the Top 10.
