Last of UsBack in October Naughty Dog denied all hope for their latest success, The Last of Us, to be available on Sony’s next-gen system sometime in the near future. Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli stated that the studio “has no plans” to bring the game on the new system. But Monacelli gave a much more hopeful response this time around to a fan on PS Blog, who asked the Naughty Dog employee whether or not the game will make its way to the PS4.

Monacelli’s response was, “We’ll see. We’re just getting our Naughty Dog engine up and running on PS4 as we work on the next Uncharted project. We will see what the future brings! :)”

Considering the fact that The Last of Us was undoubtedly the best Playstation game released in 2013, winning multiple awards in the process, re-releasing the game would be a smart move for Sony. The title has also shipped over 3.4 million copies, and has been a commercial success for both Naughty Dog and Sony.

The developer currently has two internal teams, one of which recently finished work on The Last of Us and are currently busy creating the DLC for the title. The second team has commenced work on the next Uncharted game for the PS4. Monacelli said that gamers should expect a “full reveal” of the game in 2014.
