There were lots of voices (including mine, but nobody was listening) claiming that this year’s Tokyo Game Show conference will be the biggest and best this year, following the rather disappointing E3. It really is so because we already have a lot of exclusives announced, first details presented for the first time ever and lots of surprises. But let’s start with the beginning.

A trailer was presented, one that will thrill the Xbox 360 and Halo 3 fans, detailing Halo 3 Recon, the highly anticipated expansion to the Xbox flagship title. Unfortunately, we’ll get no Master Chief this time (or at least so it seems, there might still be surprises left for the release date!) but there will be new missions and more fun times to be spent within the wonderful game universe!

Halo 3 Recon will actually be a prologue (we can’t call it a prequel) to the events Master Chief takes part in Halo 3. We’ll be controlling a new character, an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper who accidentally lands behind enemy lines in New Mombasa. New weapons seem to be ready for us to use, as well as (Joy!) new multiplayer maps and expanded Forge options.

However, the only thing we don’t know about Halo 3 Recon is the exact release date: the trailer presented at the TGS 2008 only said “Fall 2009”. And that seems to be so far away into the future, doesn’t it?
