gears-imagEpic has absolutely no plans to disappoint us in the future, at least not on matters related to the successful Gears of War franchise. Even more, it appears that we might be seeing a Gears of War prequel sometime in the future – at least that’s what the writer of Gears of War 2 Joshua Ortega suggested during this year’s Comic Con.

According to IGN, asked if there are any plans to deal with the event of the E-Day (when the Locust attacked humans), Ortega simply stated: “You will not be disappointed in the next ten years. It’s a ten-year plan. Gears is long-term. The lancer is the new lightsaber”

This could mean that we should indeed prepare for a Gears of War prequel – but it might as well mean that we won’t be disappointed with what Epic plans for the future, even though it’s not a prequel. However, a prequel would make complete sense and it would round the story up quite nicely. I guess we’ll soon hear about the company’s plans for the future – some more detailed and exact ones, hopefully.
