Sony has announced that the retail version of the upcoming latest entry in the long running Ratchet and Clank series, Into the Nexus, will come with a free download code for 2008’s Ratchet and Clank Quest for Booty. Into the Nexus will only cost $29.99, both retail and digitally. That’s two games for only thirty dollars.

Quest for Booty was the series’ very first digital only title, and was originally developed to bridge the narrative gap between 2007’s Tools of Destruction and 2009’s A Crack in Time.

Insomniac also revealed last month that Into the Nexus will be a much shorter game compared to previous installments, hence the discount price. But the studio did admit that this was planned all along.

Community Manager Jame Stevenson explained that Into the Nexus was the perfect time “to tie a bow on the PS3 era of Ratchet with a shorter title. We have a lot of stories to tell, some longer, some shorter,” he continued. “This one felt just right. It’s a very polished self-contained return to the Ratchet adventures of yore.”

Into the Nexus will be the “epilogue” to the Future series and players can get their hands on the game on November 12 in North America and the 13th in Europe; exclusively for PS3.
