Riot Games and Tencent (League of Legend‘s China publisher) announced a new punishment system in order to prevent excessive negative behavior in game. The silence system will be an additional measure to the tribunal and it will silence players whose behavior is not exemplar. This system will cut off any kind of communication and interacting with team mates will be extremely limited for a huge amount of matches. If players behave correctly and follow the summoner’s code, they’ll restore their rights to fully communicate otherwise they’ll find themselves infinitely silenced until the account gets banned.
This feature’s main goal is to create a more friendly and helpful environment, where players can learn and interact with each other in a healthy way. This will also prevent negative behaviors that include racism, harassment and verbal abuse.
Apparently, the silencing system will be totally automated and it might be introduced in other LoL communities during 2014.
