According to the publisher’s chairman, Strauss Zelnick, they will never announce Grand Theft Auto V. Here’s what he said when asked about the future of the GTA franchise (according to vg247):
“We’re not going to announce it. We’re not going to announce when we’re going to announce it. And we’re not going to announce the strategy about announcing it or about when we’re going to announce it either, or about the announcement strategy surrounding the announcement of the strategy.”
A pretty funny guy, huh? However, his declaration could also be interpreted as “GTA V will never ever be released, we’re done with the franchise”. At least that is what I understand when somebody says “we’re not going to announce something”. If you don’t announce it, it’s not coming. Or is Take Two preparing a huge surprise for us? I guess that only time can tell.
Until then, Zelnick’s last line works well as an ending for my report: “Any other questions?”
