Initially dubbed as the World of Warcraft beater, Funcom’s Age of Conan was nowhere near achieving its goal and now, with the flawless Warhammer Online released, the MMO has even more problems. This means that many players are quitting the game and slowly, if things don’t change, AoC will turn into your regular “2000 players” MMO. But Funcom doesn’t want that to happen.
Talking to Eurogamer, Craig Morrison said that the company is working on addressing the issues stated by the community, admitting that it is the main thing they have to do if they want to bring players back:
“In the MMO space, word of mouth is incredibly important. If we can show that the players who are playing the game are having a good experience, that the game has improved and that they can see that – that they’re talking to us, and we’re engaging with them… That has a positive knock-on effect,” he said.
He went on to say that now people are starting to have kind of positive words for Age of Conan, telling their friends about the problems that have been fixed, rather than simply putting it: “It’s a bad game”. Oh, yeah, that’s a big reason to be happy!
