EA Plans to Revive Ultima Online in Asia

ultima-onlineFans of Ultima Online MMO are finally getting an answer to their prayers, as Electronic Arts is planning to develop a new game in the series. However, not everybody should be as happy: we’re only talking about Asia, as the new Ultima Online game will be created for the gamers in China, Hong Kong, Macau and India.

The game will be developed by the Chinese company NetDragon, but the US developers Mythic will also help with the development, so the final experience should be genuine. And clearly a great piece of news for those living in the aforementioned countries!

“We are delighted to further our relationship with EA through the development of Ultima Online,” said Mr. Liu Dejian, Chairman of NetDragon. “Capitalizing on our ability to create a strong online gaming experience, we are confident that Ultima Online will be a success in China and will also achieve remarkable results in the other markets where we’ll operate the game.”

No further details were offered, so we have no idea when the new Ultima Online MMO will be released to the public nor what improvements will it deliver, but we’ll be keeping our eyes open for more details and we’ll let you know as soon as we have them.
