boom-bloxEven though not a notable financial success, EA’s game developed in collaboration with film director Steven Spielberg – Boom Blox – will get a sequel this year titled Boom Blox Bash Party. Actually, Electronic Arts moved quite fast on the matter and Nintendo Wii owners will have a chance to play the new game no later than this spring.

The new game will focus more on the multiplayer aspect, promising more than 400 brand new levers which will take you from under water into outer space. Sounds cool, and Steven Spielberg is excited too:

“‘Boom Blox Bash Party’ is a wild social gaming experience,” he said. “We know families and friends really enjoyed playing the original ‘Boom Blox’ together, so we designed more explosive multiplayer experiences with ‘Boom Blox Bash Party.'”

Except for new and improved multiplayer levels, the upcoming game will offer an online component that enables users to download additional levels from Electronic Arts as well as other “Boom Blox Bash Party” players. Following this move, I’m really curious to see if EA will move further into the “user-generated content” area.
