Scouts Get New Bat in Next Team Fortress 2 Update

The highly anticipated Scout update is hitting Team Fortress 2 next week and we have the first details regarding its content. Therefore, we do know that a new unlockable item will be called The Sandman (a new weapon), while the Bonk energy drink will also be available. We have a few details on both items, so check them out!

The Sandman is a new baseball bat which allows Scouts to shoot baseballs at their opponents and stun them (the longer the distance, the longer the stun time). Although clearly useful, this new unlockable weapon has a major drawback: you won’t be able to use the double jump while wielding The Sandman.

The second unlockable item is the Bonk energy drink, one which will allow scouts to dodge enemy bullets for a few seconds, but which also comes with side effects. It wasn’t detailed exactly how will this item work, but Valve did say:

“Note: Bonk! contains several hundred times the daily recommended allowance of sugar. After the beneficial effects of the radiation wear off, drinkers have reported experiencing feelings of lethargy that can last several seconds. Reading this sentence absolves Bonk! of any liability for killing sprees inspired by or deaths resulting from the ingestion of Bonk! Enjoy Bonk! responsibly? Or by the case!”

35 new achievements will also make their way alongside the update. However, an exact date was not announced, but it’s certainly hitting your Team Fortress 2 next week!
