wrathIn what could probably be a kind of bad news for World of Warcraft players, we have reports confirming that Jeffrey Kaplan, the director behind the WoW MMORPG, will be leaving the game’s team – fortunately, not for competition willing to steal some “World of Warcraft” secrets, but to help creating the upcoming, bigger and better MMO Blizzard has planned for quite some time.

Writing on the official forums, Jeffrey Kaplan stated: “ I’ve switched roles here at Blizzard to work on our upcoming, unannounced MMO. World of Warcraft has been such a central part of my life these past six and a half years, and it’s success would not have been possible without the tremendous community around it, so I wanted to say thank you to all our players who’ve shared this amazing experience with us so far. […] I still plan to be very involved with the future course of World of Warcraft, but will leave the day to day operations of World of Warcraft to my partners in crime, Tom Chilton and J. Allen Brack.”

Unfortunately, no spicy details regarding this mystery MMO were spilled. But since things are moving and Blizzard is creating a very solid team to take care of the game, we do believe that it will be huge. Time will tell.
