second-lifeThe virtual worlds in Second Life might feel a bit empty these days since Linden Labs decided to clean up their database and therefore deleted almost a million inactive Second Life characters, who probably moved over to the third live in the heaven and hell of the forgotten. Or they were simply flushed down the toilet since nobody actually cared about them anyway…

The thing is that the game’s developers always announced that they were planning to purge accounts, but until now they never had the chance. There are also reports from Massively that the deleted Second Life accounts are not inactive account, but just never active accounts. So I can just wonder – how come a million people registered to play a game and not even once logged in to do it? Strange things happen in this real world…
