Call of Duty ghostsThis years’ entry into the Call of Duty franchise shoots its way to the top of the UK All Formats Chart, with the as yet unplayable PlayStation 4 version selling more than the Wii U and physical PC versions of the game.

Call of Duty: Ghosts saw 62% of its sales coming from Xbox 360, with 34% being on PlayStation 3. The PlayStation 4 version accounted for 3% of its sales, despite the console not being released for another three weeks.  The physical PC and Wii U sales only accounted for a total of 1% of the games sales.

The next gen version even made a respectable showing in the Individual Formats Chart, coming in sixth for the week, selling more this week than the PlayStation 3 copies of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Battlefield 4.

Battlefield 4, which was beaten by Assassin’s Creed IV in the charts last week, is able to hold on to second in the charts. Ubisofts’ pirate adventure slips into third, with figures showing Battlefield 4 sold 6,000 more units than Black Flag across their first two weeks of launch, according to Chart Track.

FIFA 14 and Grand Theft Auto V both drop down one place in the chart, coming in at fourth and fifth place, respectively.

The release of PC, Wii U and 3DS versions could not stop Batman: Arkham Origins from dropping down to sixth this week, whilst WWE 2K14 and Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition hold on to their placings of seventh and eighth. Football Manager 2014 drops down to ninth whilst Skylanders Swap Force completes the Top 10.

Outside the Top 10, the only other new release to make an appearance was the latest Professor Layton title, The Azaran Legacy on the 3DS coming in at 13th this week.
