The Elder Scrolls series possess an immersive world, a vast and rich storyline and a dynamic interactive environment. The upcoming MMORPG developed by ZeniMax Online Studios should be able to offer as much content as the older creations. As so, The Elder Scrolls Online (TESO) has been revealing core characters that will decide the faith of this virtual domain. Ayrenn, the Queen of the Aldmeri Dominion, and Jorunn the Skald King, the ruler of the Ebonheart Pact have been presented in the past weeks, now it’s King Emeric’s turn.
The diplomat Emeric, ruler of Daggerfall Covenant, is introduced by TESO’s developing team through a lore journal written by the king himself. This book allows the reader to explore the story of High King Emeric, as well as other secondary characters and the world of TESO, in general. Here’s a curious excerpt from the journal, revealing the fragile state of Daggerfall Covenant:
“We were soon tested: in 2E 579 the Emperor Varen, with whom I was negotiating a treaty, disappeared from the Imperial City, and Cyrodiil once again fell under the pall of the Daedric Cabal. In Varen’s unexplained absence the “Empress” Clivia assumed the Ruby Throne. Since then, the heart of the Empire has fallen into madness, murder, and decay. It is fortunate for our peoples — indeed, for all the peoples of Tamriel — that the true flame of the Empire of Man still burns in the Daggerfall Covenant. “
The official launching date is still unknown but it’s estimated that the release will take place during this year. The beta registration for this PC exclusive game is currently open; however ZeniMax Studios haven’t sent any invitations so far.
