ra3-ultimate-editionThe latest installment in the Red Alert franchise was not widely appreciated by critics and rumor has it that the PlayStation 3 version of Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 (wisely subtitled “Ultimate Edition) is also one of poor quality. Therefore, in order to prove the rumor starters wrong, EA has decided to release a demo for the game and offer some extra details.

We know, thanks to the PlayStation Blog, that the Red Alert 3 demo will arrive in “a couple of weeks”, allowing PS3 owners to give the game a try and see that it’s really an “Ultimate Edition” with improved visuals and quality gameplay.

Also, the developers are planning to release some downloadable content via the PlayStation Network, with the first pack hitting the PSN soon after the game’s release. According to the official post: “This map pack, which should be available very close to our launch later this month, will feature 3 new skirmish maps for both offline and online play.” It should be free, for the amount of content it delivers…
